Some days, you just have to do the best you can to carry on with your life. The night before this meet,my Dearest friend, Stu Hill passed away from a shockingly aggressive cancer. And seeing as I was having my own tussle with a much less aggressive cancer the next day, my head just wasn’t in the right place to race in any way competitively. However, I think Stu would have slapped me I’ve I’d sat in and moped around the house all day. So I packed up the car and hauled my ass to Cardiff, where at least Alan and the boys were friendly faces that helped keep my pecker up, so to speak.
Having a spare weekend, a hankering to try out the layback transmission on the B6.4, and the ever present itch to race, Swindon fitted in nicely before my first attack…
