Some days, you just have to do the best you can to carry on with your life. The night before this meet,my Dearest friend, Stu Hill passed away from a shockingly aggressive cancer. And seeing as I was having my own tussle with a much less aggressive cancer the next day, my head just wasn’t in the right place to race in any way competitively. However, I think Stu would have slapped me I’ve I’d sat in and moped around the house all day. So I packed up the car and hauled my ass to Cardiff, where at least Alan and the boys were friendly faces that helped keep my pecker up, so to speak.
3 of the four Quali rounds and the final were pretty dismal, due to not really being able to concentrate. I did manage to focus in a bit for the 4th quali, and that showed that the new three plate Avid Slipper Clutch is superb, that combined with the AVID -1 toe in C-Bracket and Under ESC weight and Jconcepts Pink Swagger fronts were all really good additions. I’ll go gear reviews on them in due course.
But ok, points on the board which I should think I’ll turn into a dropped score later in the winter season.
