Just got home to find some much anticipated bits have finally arrived from Japan…

Firstly the rear Motor Guard. With the motor hanging right at the back of the car, this is a bit of an essential, so this is very welcome if I’m actually going to compete it!

Universal drive shafts for the front. I think this was a mod that just about every Optima and Mid-Optima owner ended up doing back in the day. And I can see why, there’s a lot of play with the standard dog bones, and even if the don’t pop out, at full lock they seem to clatter around an vibrate and bind a lot. These look like the axle uses a drive pin instead of a conical friction axle, so I suspect I’ll be in the market for some pin hexes, but none-the less chuffed I’ve got a satisfying fix in the offing.
