The Mardave Minis at Bristol looked so much fun, that I decided to get myself one and have a go.
For a car that’s so brutally simple, it’s incredible how well they drive. Set just the rear ride height and dab on a bit of tyre additive, & Bob’s your uncle, zip zip zip!
The trick with these things seems to be getting the body fitted correctly. It seems the kit flexi bumper and one post body mount leaves the car a bit prone to the wheel arches catching and binding on the tyres, so there’s a bit of tweaking to be done there.
But even after I bent a steering kingpin, the pluckly little thing soldiered on quite driveably. Really quite smitten with it.
